Can God Trust You?

Posted on

“I have chosen him, so that he will direct his children. (Genesis 18:19)

God chooses people He can depend upon. He knew what to expect from Abraham and said of him, “I have chosen him, so that he will direct his children… that the Lord will bring about what He had promised him.” God is looking for people on whom He can place the weight of His entire love, power, and faithful promises. God knows that you can withstand your trial, or else He would not have given it to you. His trust in you explains the trials of your life, no matter how severe they may be. God knows your strength, and He measures it to the last inch. Remember, no trial has ever been given to anyone that was greater than that person’s strength through God to endure it.  LBC, ABS (P426)

Has God trusted you with His silence – a silence that has great meaning? God’s silences are actually His answers. Just think of days of absolute silence in that home at Bethany. Is there anything comparable to days in your life? Can God trust you like that? His silence is a sign that He is bringing you into a more deeper and meaningful relationship with Him. One that is also full of power and purpose. A power that can not only cast the mountain into the sea, but disintegrates it literally! Alleluia!

So do not be afraid of suffering or defeat. It is through being “struck down, but not destroyed” (2 Corinthians 4:9) and through being broken to pieces, and those pieces being torn to shreds, that we become people of strength. Others may yield to the appearance of things and follow the world. They may blossom quickly and find momentary prosperity, but their end will be one of eternal death. HWB (P384)

Do not just sing the song, be a true friend to God – a friend he can trust. (Selah)
