“Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all.” Proverbs 31:29 KJV
I was sitting in my favorite coffee shop this morning, eating a special breakfast (the cook told me he was in a good mood and it showed in my sandwich) as I communed with my maker. I was waiting for my direction for the day, when I heard Bob Marley’s ‘No woman, No cry’ crooning in the overhead speaker. Then it hit me, something I have known most of my life, something I had experienced a lot of times and something that if anyone dared write about it; it would be me…
I am every woman; plus some…mm hmm. God made me a woman, in fact, everything that he expects from a woman he has deposited in me. I was created by the Almighty to be a ‘she’,I was born a female, ‘I was born this way‘. But I have to agree that my gender has done about as much damage, as they should have been used to: ‘rebuild the waste places’.
We have rendered our own children fatherless and confused, by insisting on our way and selfish desires regardless of God’s way and letting nature take its course. We have set up the younger generation for abuse, by exposing them to the predator without godly and survival skills. Then we strut our stuff, and help them (the other gender) fall into a deep dark pit. From the bite into the forbidden apple to the taste of the destructive potion, the woman has had some share of the guilty verdict. But I must say the most devastating role abdicated by the female on this earth, is that of nurturing and care. You have to agree, that by the time the woman pushes away empty and desperate hands and lives, we are in for the apocalypse. The symbol of nurture and compassion becomes the symbol of greed, wickedness and dispassionate decisions.
Only by the true fear of God, shall a woman rightfully and powerfully fulfill her God-given role on earth and in this side of eternity. Only by truly being clothed in Christ’s righteousness, can she effectively carry out His desires here on earth. Is perfection expected from her? Or is she to be responsible for all ills in society? Absolutely not! But somethings, she cannot be a partaker of ( Example snatching sustenance from the hand of the needy to prove power and position); especially while bearing the title of a mother or a clergy person. Lord have mercy on us all.
I will conclude with this personal story as always (yet you will never really figure me out)! I have an aunt (my mother’s cousin), who lives in the tri-state area and doing quite well for herself and family. We used to be very close, until she insisted I practice ‘medicine’ and marry a blind date set up by her; so she would see me attain to the position I was supposed to be in life. Don’t think evil of her, introductions and resulting insistence is a cultural thing for her. Anyway, while we were close, I enjoyed hanging at her million dollar home with her and her family. She enjoyed having me around and I loved watching her soap-like lifestyle. She was a professional, who could ‘keep house’ like no other and still have time to spare for family. All her four kids attended Ivy league colleges and wondered what the fuss was all about – no big deal they thought. The local t.v. station had once featured her family on a program about ‘success in America’. I thought my aunt was cool, and more so because she was there for me like a mother would be.
One day I asked her why she cared and did so much for me, since we only hooked up now that I was an adult. How did she learn to love me so thoroughly in so short a time. I was not really expecting a line from a Shakespeare poem but what she told me blew me away and got me to re-think certain cause of actions in my life. She simply said everything she knew and had learned, she learned from my very beautiful, kind and smart mother
. She is where she is today because of the big-break and opportunity my mother gave her in life. She said at some point, she lived with her (my mother) in the city, when she had no where else to go. Wow! my very cool aunt was a result of my mothers benevolence and tutelage. (See Inherent Inheritance)
Need I say more girls; keep jockeying for position and power, Keep abusing young attractive women as if they are the cause of your insecurities and misery, keep hurting and harming the neighborhood as you propel your insignificant self to fake and limited limelight. Soon it will come crashing down as you find out you left a legacy of debt, contempt and people’s hurt feelings to your offspring. In today’s newspaper, Late Princess Diana; in all her universally agreed beauty, gait, class and well deserved position was remembered and portrayed most for her empathy and passionate desire to help the less fortunate all over the world. We would have been happy watching her beautiful self carry out her princess role; but to think that she was kind and sweet too.
That song I mentioned in the beginning, did end by saying: “Everything is gonna be alright”. I am glad the singer figured that out. We pray that God protect us from this woman and her tirade, and remove her from her latest project, because she intends to cause a lot of harm.
“Even as I have seen, they that plow iniquity and sow wickedness, reap the same.” Job 4:8
PS: Warningly dedicated to those women that due to their insecurities, misery and sheer greed did me and others ‘like me’ a lot of harm and injustice ‘in the house’ and are still doing.
