The Greatness of the LATTER!

Posted on

“The glory of this latter house shall be greater than of the former, saith the LORD of hosts: and in this place will I give peace, saith the LORD of hosts.”  Haggai 2:8-10

The best is yet to come. Ever heard that expression? The truth indeed it is. We have gone through the rest now time for us to see the best. All that the Sovereign LORD has in mind and has planned, has been hidden up until now. As the scripture tells us:

“For since the beginning of the world men have not heard, nor perceived by the ear, neither hath the eye seen, O God, beside thee, what he hath prepared for him that waiteth for him.”  Isaiah 64:3-5

“But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.”  1 Corinthians 2:8-10

The seemingly unending wait for love it is. Notice the book of Isaiah said; ‘those that wait for Him’, while the book of first Corinthians said; ‘those that love Him’. You cannot wait for what you do not love. Waiting for God goes against man’s plan and system. In fact man will count you out and as stupid as they speed right by, parading their fineries, abilities and accomplishments. “We are fools for Christ‘s sake…we are despised.”  1 Corinthians 4:9-11  Do you remember the principle of God’s Kingdom? “But many that are first shall be last; and the last first.”  Mark 10:30-32  The act of waiting on God cannot come naturally, you need divine grace and empowerment not to act in the flesh, or attempt to ‘keep up with the Joneses‘. Allow the ‘Jones’ to complete their parades and fizzle as they undoubtedly will, then let God…

“The glory of this latter house shall be greater than of the former, saith the LORD of hosts: and in this place will I give peace, saith the LORD of hosts.” Haggai 2:8-10

A sign of God’s involvement and approval is always peace. Even when you hurt… “In peace posses ye your souls.” Remember Amalek in all his rebellion and wickedness, yet he was also ahead of his game. He took of before every one else but see how he ended. An early start is good for being punctual at a place of employment, but not necessary in God’s will. Like they say in francais; “Tout est bien qui finit bien”. Translation: ‘All is well that ends well’. It will have a clean bill of health, after it has ended well not because it merely started wellAnd when he looked on Amalek, he took up his parable, and said, Amalek was the first of the nations; but his latter end shall be that he perish for ever.”  Numbers 24:19-21

Could this be why the Lord said not to consider with disdain your days of small beginnings.  Big things always start small. They do not have to look big, all they need is the structured DNA of the expected manifest or destiny.  And in due season; viola you have a huge replication of what resided on the inside any how. Did you know that the tiny acorn, with time and nourishment becomes the ‘big and bad’ oak tree. “Though thy beginning was small, yet thy latter end should greatly increase.” Job 8:6-8

A new era and a new year is upon us. A year like we have never seen before. A year of replenishment and restoration. A year when those who toiled and waited, and were the better for it shall have the last laugh. A year when the Spirit of God will take back His church from the spirit of this age. A year when the haggard, superficial and worn flesh would give way to the invigorated, empowered and wizened spirit. A year of new beginnings and the fulfillment of old and new covenants. A year of unfolding promises. A year of reaping all that was invested for the purpose of Christ and His kingdom. Do you recollect that God said He would honor those that honor Him (that is one of my favorite scripture, but it deludes me now). A year when the old shall give way to the new (and I am not talking age, because then that would exclude me! :)).

Finally but not lastly, a year that would launch and lay down the red carpet that would usher in the One and Only and absolutely, Incomparable (the only One deserving of that adjective) JESUS the CHRIST, the King above every other king in heaven and on earth below… (I will reserve my doxology for another time).

Last night I was feeling disappointed and hurt that people want to use my Jesus to get what they want and then attempt to wow Jesus with what He gave them in the first place! My heart was heavy as I boarded the south bound train. It was even heavier when a group of teenagers got on the train and started jumping dancing and hollering. I thought Lord if they don’t stop this minute…

As I scowled at my boots and contemplated the mis-guidance of a whole generation to self-worship, depreciate or aggrandization, the Lord gently whispered listen… Then I heard what the ring leader was singing …”Almighty, You are the Most High God…” It was a song from my native land and the kid was singing as best as he could with an American accent. What?! I thought as my face broke out in a broad grin and my countenance began to lift. Just as the train rolled into my destination and I got ready to step of; I heard another kid yell to no one in particular, “Jesus is coming soon, GET RIGHT or GET LEFT!!! (behind that is; did you get it?). I thought that was so cool as I now skipped of the train in jubilation.

Now dat’s wats up!!! Come on in 2012

“Be glad then, ye children of Zion, and rejoice in the LORD your God: for he hath given you the former rain moderately, and he will cause to come down for you the rain, the former rain, and the latter rain in the first month.”  Joel 2:22-24

Be Burning Bright (a must read!)

“And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever.”  Daniel 12:2-4

English: Hanukkah menorah, known also as Hanuk...

THE FEAST OF DEDICATION: (culled from Sar Shalom)

“Hanukkah is the Hebrew word for Dedication.

It is not the Jewish alternative to Christmas.

This holiday represents a story all of its own.

It is a story of incredible faithfulness to God and a story of awesome
courage.

We know it also as a story of re-dedication of a defiled Temple.

Like Christmas it is a time to wonder at the miracles of God.

Hanukkah is a time to rededicate and celebrate.

Most importantly, Hanukkah is not just for Jews.

Yeshua (Jesus) celebrated Hanukkah.
So why shouldn’t Christians?
If it was important to Jesus shouldn’t it be important to us?

This holiday is about a dedicated people who refused to compromise.
A remnant of people who refused to give in and go against God ‘s Word.

“Light in the Darkness” is what this holiday is all about.

This is one reason why every believer should choose to celebrate
Hanukkah.

Every believer in the Messiah should be a
“Light in the Darkness.”

The history behind Hanukkah should be known by every Christian and we,
like our Jewish brothers and sisters, should pass this extraordinary story of
faith down to our children.

A day will come when our children and grandchildren will need to know
how to stand and not back down.

Although it is certain that Yeshua took part in this festival it is not mentioned
in the Old Testament.
It is not mentioned because it happened during the time between the old
and the new.  We like to call those years the silent years but they were not
very silent.
True, there were no prophetic words spoken but God was still on the scene!
The Hanukkah story is recorded in great  detail in books called
“The Maccabees.”
You may also find recorded information in the writings of the great historian
Josepheous.
The only place in the Bible that Hanukkah is mentioned by name is
John 10:22

Greek education had become a universal standard.

Emerging were the Greek theaters, chariot races, gymnasiums
and stadiums.
The land of Israel was no exception.
When Alexandra conquered he didn’t just conquer the people he
conquered their culture.
Many Jews accepted this culture with open arms.
They said, “Hey, this is modern days why do we need to stick
with the book?”
Why do we need to do what the Torah says?
The ones that didn’t want to compromise said, “That’s who we
are, we are people of the book.”
There was a split.
During this time many Jews gave into Hellenism and embraced
the Greek culture with open arms.
Alexander was so ambitious that he conquered what was then the
whole world by age twenty three.

What Daniel was prophesying is exactly what happened.
Alexandra came in charging like a goat with a single, powerful
horn; one man power; one world power.
He trampled and shattered everything in his path.
All that was to conquer he conquered.

Alexander the Great then died in 323 B.C.
He died but the Greek culture lived on.  And it continued to
spread and poison the minds of the people.
After his death, Alexander’s empire split into four parts.  His four
generals divided all his conquests amongst themselves.

Daniel 8: 8, 22
Therefore the male goat grew very great; but when he became
strong, the large horn was broken, and in place of it four notable
ones came up toward the four winds of heaven.
Verse 22
As for the broken horn and the four that stood up in its place, four
kingdoms shall arise out of that nation, but not with its power.

One of Alexander’s generals took the area of what later became
Syria.  The ruler that came into power of that are several
generations later was Antiochus.

Antiochus was a nut~case.
He declared himself “Epiphanes.”
Which means “god manifest.”
In other words he was stating that he was divine, he was god.
What he was, was a mad man.
He had statues of himself every where and he ordered the people
to worship them.  He even placed them in the Temple.

The Greek language became mandatory and the Greek religion
were also required.
Hellenist Jews even brought a gymnasium to Jerusalem.
What is wrong with that?
Gymnasium actually means “nude men.”
The gym was a place were nude men played sports while the
spectators worshiped the players.

Sound familiar?
Our sport players may not be nude today but we still have a lot of
people worshiping them and worshiping the sports.

There is nothing wrong with enjoying sports but anything that has
our attention more than God does is idolatry.

What is a Hellenist?
A Hellenists is someone that totally embraces the Greek culture.
Hellenist glorified themselves instead of God.  They glorified the
human body both in sport and in art.

They were humanist worshiping man instead of God, making men
into gods.
During this time many Jews forsook their Jewishness for
monetary gain and prestige.
Some male Jews even participated in the nude Greek sporting
events.
Many gave into the times in which they lived, thinking they would
be accepted if they where part of the crowd.
In the end it not only cost them their lives but their souls.

During this time in a midst of a heated rage over a loss battle,
Antiochus ordered Jerusalem to be destroyed.
Houses were burned, the walls of the city broken down,
thousands were killed or sold into slavery.  Including the ones
that embraced Antiochus’ ways.
Then his attention was turned to the Temple on Mount Zion.
Syrian soldiers destroyed the porches and gates.  They stripped
the Temple of its golden vessels and treasures, including the
incense altar, the table and the menorah.

Daniel 11:29~31
At the appointed time he shall return and go toward the south; but
it shall not be like the former or the latter.  For ships from Cyprus
shall come against him; therefore he shall be grieved, and return
in rage against the holy covenant, and do damage.  So he shall
return and show regard for those who forsake the holy covenant.
And forces shall be mustered by him, and they shall defile the
sanctuary fortress; then they shall take away the daily sacrifices,
and place there the abomination of desolation.

Antiochus erected an idol of Zeus on the holy altar

On the birthday of Zeus, December 25th, Antiochus offered a pig
on the altar of our Lord, Adonai.
He then proceeded to sprinkle its blood in the Holy of Holies and
poured its broth over the holy scrolls; which he cut to pieces and
burned.
The Sanctuary and the Holy of Holies had been desecrated and
defiled.
The Temple was converted to a shrine to Zeus and only swine
were permitted for sacrifice.
Antiochus’ goal was to abolish every trace of the Jewish religion.
He issued orders forbidding circumcision, Sabbath observance,
kosher diets and the study of Torah.
Those who attempted to live out the Torah (God’s Word) were put
to death.
Women who had their children circumcised were put to death.
Before being killed they were used as human crosses and their
babies were hung to death from the mother’s own neck.
Many Jews gave in and chose to comply with the new laws.  They
forsook Torah (God’s Word) to save their own lives.  Others stood
fast to the covenant and paid for their convictions dearly.
Jewish history records many courageous acts of faithful devotion.

Eleazar, a ninety year old man was commanded to eat swine’s
flesh.  Not willing to deceive the young people with his example
he refused to break the law of God.  The soldiers beat him until he
died.  To him, if he could compromise on that he could
compromise on any part of God’s law.
This isn’t about pork, this is about compromise.
As believers in Messiah we must set an example of the Gospel
for all to see.

Just as Yeshua is the light in darkness we must be the light in
darkness.

A women named Hannah and her seven sons were arrested for
their refusal to forsake the Torah (God’s Word).  One by one her
sons were tortured, forcing the mother to watch.  When they
refused to yield they were boiled alive in cauldrons.  The mother
encouraged the youngest and last son with the hope of
resurrection and then she too was put to death.

There were many more like her.
Hebrews 11:35
Others were tortured, not accepting deliverance, that they might
obtain a better resurrection.

Daniel 11: 33, 34
And those of the people who understand shall instruct many; yet
for many days they shall fall by sword and flame, by captivity and
plundering.
Now when they fall, they shall be aided with a little help; but
many shall join with them by intrigue.

Hidden away in the mountains was a man named Mattathias along
with his sons.  This was a priestly family from the line of Aaron.
As a matter of fact, Matthew from the Gospel of Matthew, whose
name was really the Jewish name Mattathias, history tells us that
he was named after this particular man.
The Priest Mattathias that would not compromise.
From this family’s influence soon a small army formed.  Prior to
Mattathias’s death he passed his leadership to his son Judah.
Judah and his freedom fighters came to be called the Maccabees.
Maccabee was not his last name.
Maccabee means hammer.

The amazing thing about these freedom fighters was that they
consist of the common people.  Farmers, workers and servants.
Usually it is what we might call the common people what are
willing to stand for what is right.

Most people, not all but most who are of great prestige and
wealth are not willing to loose what they have in this world so
they compromise the Word of God.

The greatest treasures are the ones we store in heaven

The greatest kingdom we can build is God’s Kingdom and not our
own
The Maccabees knew they were out numbered but they also
knew that God was in charge.

When the men feared for their lives Judah encouraged them with
these words
“It is easy for many to be overcome by few; in the sight of
heaven there is no difference between deliverance by many or
by few; for victory in war does not depend upon size of the army,
but on strength that comes from heaven.  With great presumption
and lawlessness they come against us to destroy us and our
wives and children and to despoil us; but we are fighting for our
lives and our Torah laws.  He Himself will crush them before us;
so do not be afraid of them.”

Since then Israel has proven this statement to be true many
times.

Remember the words of Yeshua in Matthew 10:28
“Do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul.  But
rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.”

In an incredible victory Adonai our Lord overthrew the massive
army before the small group of faithful fighters.

It was clearly a miracle from heaven.
In battle after battle a few overpowered many.
The weak overturned the strong.

Because they were willing to stand and not compromise God
gave them the victory.

When we stand up for God’s Word and not compromise no matter
how hard it seems at times, God will see us through.

He will give us the victory!
Stand on His Word no matter what!
What He says will come to pass if you believe!
When you have done all to stand, continue to stand.

Trust Him
Believe Him
Serve Him
and
Love Him
and
His Word will work for you!

This small army of freedom fighters trusted God and they were
able to take Jerusalem back.

They regained control of the Holy Temple and began to purify it.
The altar was torn down and rebuilt.  The Temple was restored
and new vessels were crafted.  The Temple courts were
consecrated.  The altar of incense and the table were brought
back into the Temple.  They burnt the incense on the altar and put
the shewbread on the table, hung the curtains.

They prepared the house of God for His presence.

Every thing was ready except one thing

They found only one small cruse of oil

Just enough to light their holy lamps one day

They decided to light it many ways

To everyone’s amazement the menorah miraculously burned for
eight days until new oil could be made!

Little is much when God is in it!
When we decide to take one small step of faith God can do
miraculous things in our lives.
The congregation of Israel decreed that the rededication of the
altar should be observed with joy and gladness at the same
season each year for eight days.
Hanukkah teaches us to stand and be of good courage
Do not compromise
We can overcome with God
If God be for you who can be against you!
Romans 12:21
Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
We are able to overcome the world because Yeshua has
overcome and greater is He that is in us than he who is in the
world”

Realistic and Retrospective Resolutions (For the New Year)

Posted on

I just rounded up a poll system that was sent to me on-line (internet). It was one of those things you mark as ‘junk’ as you sift through thousands of in-boxed mail. It caught my eye because it came from a reputable Psychologist and Psycho-analyst. I was just curious and in the process of  making a cross-road decision (curiosity could be a strength or a weakness). Therefore, I decided to try the test with its attached  polling system. Another reason for the trial was the fact that as a new year rolls in, I often like to roll out the old one with an in-depth retrospect. So what better way to start than with the girl in the mirror…

First I had to collect and gather my pollsters. They ranged from family, very close friends, acquaintances, service people  and total strangers. They would all be posed with the same questions, and whether it be a life time of familiarity of a few moments of camaraderie, they had to give an answer. Lets spin the wheel… The response came from Medical Doctors, Pharmacists, Engineers, Diplomats, CEOs, CFOs, Artists, Actors, Dancers, Singers, Writers, grocery store clerk, coffee shop barista and what have you. The refrain was undeniably almost the same, though delivered and worded differently.

So I went to my Lord in prayer,  The Awesome Ruler, Mighty Redeemer, Great I AM, The Fairest of ten thousand, The Faithful and True One… What sayest thou Master? I asked. Should I add or take out, are these people mistaken or deceived? Speak for Thy hand-maiden heareth. And the Sovereign and most High God said:

“For thus saith the LORD of hosts; After the glory hath he sent me unto the nations which spoiled you: for he that toucheth you toucheth the apple of his eye.”  Zechariah 2:7-9

Ahhh… this is why I serve HIM, (at least a fraction of the reason :)). I glowed so much, I eclipsed the silly ball in ‘Times Square’. If it fails to light up in a couple of days, you know who the culprit is.

So on that note, come 2012: ‘HATERS BEWARE!’

AAARRRGGGGHHHHHH!!!… (Sounding off)

How is it that all these beautiful, smart and intelligent folks, could not get it together.  You got the password, via electronic mail, voice mail, face mail and touch mail. Why all the repeat questions and contact?!! Is this a ploy to get me to acquiesce? Alright here we go again…

NB: You do know I still love and cherish you this much. Don’t you?

A Very Cheery and Merry CHRISTmas!

“Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.” Luke 2:13-15

“And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.” Luke 2:6-8

God has an incredible sense of humor. He always goes against the ‘grain’ and system set by man. What He does is never short of mind-boggling and confusing to devils and mere mortals alike. He stirs up trouble, thrives in controversy and makes what was once perceived (which actually is) as impossible a ‘piece of heavenly cake’. He can afford to do all these and remain self-sufficient, because He alone is the Sovereign God!

Unbeknownst to man, devil and all of creation, God had a plan and a timing to that plan. When His pre-ordained time came to be, events that were second-to-none began to unfold. First and foremost, an aging couple who had all but given up on life, would be the proud parents of the front-runner of the Messiah that was God. And as that baby was barely and fully formed in his mother’s womb, there was an even greater flutter and excited activity in heaven. The angel of God would show up again on earth, this time to visit a lowly maiden (who would from then on forever be anything but lowly).

We do well to note that this girl was not hanging out in the palace by a pillar of nobility before her visitation.  She was not a part of a system or click, or even one of the self-acclaimed ‘who-is-who’ of society. She just loved God, God knew it and paid her an honorable visit. Mary did not argue with God.  She received the upgrading salutation from the angel of God, absorbed the injection of destiny and embraced the mis-understanding and controversy that would come with it.  It is interesting to note that the scripture’s introduction of Mary in the book of Luke chapter one, was as a virgin espoused to a man called Joseph (of the house of David). With Mary’s embrace of divine purpose, came the inevitable ostracization of man and society bereft of the Spirit of God (which is the spirit of wisdom and understanding).

“The person without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God but considers them foolishness, and cannot understand them because they are discerned only through the Spirit.”  1 Corinthians 2:13-15

We see in Matthew the first chapter, that Joseph began to plot on how to put her away (who needs the drama, rejection and the shame?). But being that he was a man of God and was also destined to be a part of the greatest plan in the history of mankind, the Spirit of the Lord visited Joseph and took responsibility for Mary’s state. Now Joseph would have still gone about his plan which would of course rendered him rebellious and disobedient and happily in line for the fate of those that act thus. But Joseph chose to obey and today he takes his place in ‘Heaven’s Hall of Kingdom Inclusivity’.

“And Jacob the father of Joseph, the husband of Mary, and Mary was the mother of Jesus who is called the Messiah.”  Matthew 1:15-17

Jesus Christ (the King of Kings) grew up in complete obscurity. Mary was no ‘stage mum’, therefore did not submit Jesus for a talent search/show, pagaent or try to promote what could have been His talents. She did not parade him with a sign on His head that said ‘Son of God’. She just  prayerfully and  discreetly watched and waited on the revelation of what God had told her many years ago.  In fact the scripture was deliberate in telling us that:

“But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart.”  Luke 2:18-20

That must have been a very heavy and often disheartening secret and revelation to carry. A mere mortal, a very young hand-maiden not only bearing  in her bosom the greatest miracle the world has ever known and will ever know, but being a huge part of its fulfillment. But Mary bore an uncanny amount of refinement, grace and class and held her own, in the ‘land of the obscure’. Little wonder God had picked her.

How and with what Jesus grew up; no one knows for sure. We do know that as a carpenter’s son He too learnt (or for the sake of us submitted to learn) how to make and mend wood. For as God, He knew that our hearts would need fixing and mending. He knew that the splinters of our sin, rebellion and disobedience would prick His able and deft fingers time and time again. But as our Ransom and Redeemer, he would keep mending, fixing and polishing us (howbeit though, not forever):

“Then the LORD said, “My Spirit will not contend with humans forever, for they are mortal ; their days will be a hundred and twenty years.” Genesis 6:2-4

“Just as people are destined to die once, and after that to face judgment,”  Hebrews 9:26-28

For 30 solid years, no shows were signed on for Jesus, nothing was written or recorded (not even a blog???!). Actually it seemed nothing was happening, but the scripture tells us: “And the child grew and became strong; he was filled with wisdom, and the grace of God was on him.” Luke 2:39-41 Could it be He was hidden for this purpose, the Majesty of Him and the magnitude of His ministry needed to be incubated and hibernated. The same was also required of the fore-runner of Jesus Christ John the Baptist. “And the child grew and became strong in spirit ; and he lived in the wilderness until he appeared publicly to Israel.” Luke 1:79-80  When God is ready to do something of eternal significance and enormous calibre, there is seldom the fanfare and approval generated by the flesh. In fact like one wise pastor told me two days ago, the less the involvement of flesh, the more it be of God. Even the world has a saying; “You need character to keep you where your gift takes you”.

“Those who are in the realm of the flesh cannot please God.”  Romans 8:7-9

Finally Jesus shows up, and in only three years revolutionizes the world. Love Him or hate Him, no greater flesh and bone walked the face of this earth or ever will. God did not need eternity to make us ‘eternity-worthy’, in three years He (as Jesus the Christ) fixed, equipped and taught a few and then made the ultimate sacrifice for all.

For the greatest story ever told, and the greatest gift mankind ever received, God stepped away from the camp, the clicks, the religious sect and the politically correct. Even the Inn did not receive Him, there was no room for him and his poor earthly parents. As Mary sauntered and staggered in pain with ‘the most precious cargo’ ever, did she wonder what God was thinking? To give her such a load and not even provide some comfort to go with it. She had just recovered from the waging tongues that speculated at her plight with the utmost ignorance. Still now with each sharp and searing pain in her womb, she wondered if she even heard right. The worried and dismal look on Joseph’s face was not helping matters either, until…

7and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no guest room available for them.8 And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. 9 An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. 10 But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people.
11 Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. 12This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.”
13Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying,

14 “Glory to God in the highest heaven,
and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.”

15 When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, “Let’s go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about.”  Luke 2:7-15 (NIV)

Mary grimaced to herself as the little child squirmed and squealed. How many human births on earth had ushered in the Angels of God as they came down in excitement to worship? Even the lowly shepherds tending to their miserable flocks in a boring and predictable existence had a heavenly visitation. I wonder if their flock began to sing instead of bleat as their keepers scurried away. Surely God had visited His people and honored her (Mary) as a vessel.

To Mary, it was worth the misunderstanding, worth the gossip, worth the rejection, worth the wait and most definitely worth the pain. For it was the successive pain of contraction that finally brought forth the incredible work of God. And God chose to do it aside from the established camps of the ‘know hows’ and ‘have alls’. He chose a manger and said ” Behold My Son, My glory, My work…” This one time (selfish actions were permitted), the angels fought and clambered to be the first at heaven’s door as they made their descent to worship the baby that would be King of kings. But it was okay, for there would never be another day like this, when God became a man and was born of a virgin. But there would be other times when that which was conceived of the Spirit of God, would be carried and brought forth by a mere mortal.

God bless all ye faithful, joyful and weary saints watching and waiting. Bartered, bruised and beaten down days on end but still believing. Behold He comes, but He has no reservations at the Inn for great things are born out of the system down by the over looked manger. Therefore He will be at the manger, the stinking and trampled manger of our hearts. Hope to see you there… Today I have a special gift wrapped, I took my time and I set the bow just right. No, it will not be under the tree with your other gifts. It will be and is on this page. Peace, mercy and joy to All men… (and women too!)

A Very MERRY CHRIST-MAS  TO YOU AND YOURS!!!

“A good man leaveth an inheritance to his children’s children: and the wealth of the sinner is laid up for the just.”
Proverbs 13:21-23

My precious daddy handed me a slip of paper many moons ago (kisses my daddy dearest), on it was the address of a church in what they call ‘the greatest city in the world’, I call it… He was sceptical and a tad bit worried about me living alone in that city infamous for its libelous decadence. But He had prayed and God said it would be so. God had already imprinted that in my heart since I was seventeen. Then I had two special ‘T’ shirts made with skyscrapers and the name of the city emblazoned on it. Even the colors blue and green (which were uncharacteristic  of my usual pink and yellow hues) were of great significance and specifically chosen.

God gave daddy a word and sermon which he shared with me. Unbeknownst to him, the impact of that word would span several years and sustain my very being.

Luke 1:28-35

King James Version (KJV)

28″And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women.

29And when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying, and cast in her mind what manner of salutation this should be.

30And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God.

31And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS.

32He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David:

33And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end.

34Then said Mary unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man?

35And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.”

Daddy said, “you may not know anybody over there, but the Holy Spirit will always be with you, to protect and guide you. And in the end that which shall come forth of your life will be of God. (verses 34 and 35). One more word he had,

“Behold, they shall surely gather together, but not by me: whosoever shall gather together against thee shall fall for thy sake.”
Isaiah 54:14-16

“For, lo, they lie in wait for my soul: the mighty are gathered against me; not for my transgression, nor for my sin, O LORD.”
Psalm 59:2-4

“They gather themselves together against the soul of the righteous, and condemn the innocent blood.”
Psalm 94:20-22

Have I not lived to see all that and more; and still living to see more as I lift my awesome God on high. The power of a truly lived and practiced godly legacy. If my father were wicked, corrupt or perverse in his ways, if he had defrauded the widow (indeed) and the fatherless, and blatantly robbed God, had blood on his hands as he diligently sought to destroy the beloved of the Lord; then the life of his seed would have been chaff for the enemy to blow away at his whimsical behest. In fact, his very prayer would have been a curse. But thank God, that when He (God) called, my father answered sincerely and with everything in him.

Heavenly father, I thank you from the bottom of my heart for such a heritage. I did not solicit or deserve it, but it was mine. May I in honor to your faithfulness pass it on to my seed. And down on my knees with my face to the ground I say:-

Luke 1:46-55

King James Version (KJV)

And Mary (this writer) said, My soul doth magnify the Lord,

And my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour.

For he hath regarded the low estate of his handmaiden: for, behold, from henceforth all generations shall call me blessed.

For he that is mighty hath done to me great things; and holy is his name.

And his mercy is on them that fear him from generation to generation.

He hath shewed strength with his arm; he hath scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts.

He hath put down the mighty from their seats, and exalted them of low degree.

He hath filled the hungry with good things; and the rich he hath sent empty away.

He hath helped his servant Israel, in remembrance of his mercy;

As he spake to our fathers, to Abraham, and to his seed for ever.

Be Thou Glorified Oh Lord!!!

Winning and Wise Ways

“My son, if you accept my words
and store up my commands within you,
turning your ear to wisdom
and applying your heart to understanding—
indeed, if you call out for insight
   and cry aloud for understanding,
and if you look for it as for silver
and search for it as for hidden treasure,
then you will understand the fear of the LORD
and find the knowledge of God.
For the LORD gives wisdom;
from his mouth come knowledge and understanding.
He holds success in store for the upright,
he is a shield to those whose walk is blameless,
for he guards the course of the just
and protects the way of his faithful ones.

Then you will understand what is right and just
   and fair—every good path.
For wisdom will enter your heart,
and knowledge will be pleasant to your soul.
Discretion will protect you,
   and understanding will guard you.

Wisdom will save you from the ways of wicked men,
from men whose words are perverse,
who have left the straight paths
   to walk in dark ways,
who delight in doing wrong
and rejoice in the perverseness of evil,
whose paths are crooked
and who are devious in their ways.

Wisdom will save you also from the adulterous woman,
from the wayward woman with her seductive words,
who has left the partner of her youth
and ignored the covenant she made before God.
Surely her house leads down to death
and her paths to the spirits of the dead.
None who go to her return
or attain the paths of life.

Thus you will walk in the ways of the good
and keep to the paths of the righteous.
For the upright will live in the land,
   and the blameless will remain in it;
but the wicked will be cut off from the land,
and the unfaithful will be torn from it.”
