God Said “Let There Be…” (His Voice thundered; It was a Big Bang!!!)

Posted on

“God’s voice thunders in marvelous ways; he does great things beyond our understanding.”
Job 37:4-6

“The voice of the LORD is over the waters; the God of glory thunders, the LORD thunders over the mighty waters.”                Psalm 29:2-4

The bible tells us in Genesis chapter one; the very beginning of creation that: In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.  And God said…” Genesis 1:1-3   That means there was complete nothingness, until God said something. How big, booming and thunderous, His voice must have been. A bunch of people say it took a big bang to produce all these around, including us. I do believe someone heard a bang, I believe it was big. It was simply the voice of GOD!

[ The Beginning ] In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.”
Genesis 1:1-3

The Supremacy of the Son of God: ” The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation.  For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him. He is before all things, and in him all things hold together.” Colossians 1:15-17

I ran into a Scientist the other day. Actually let me re-phrase that, the Scientist came over to my table where I was writing and eating simultaneously. He said he had just bought two tickets to the hottest show on Broadway (so he thought) at $400 a piece, he was quite excited and thought  I would be impressed. I apologised for not having done a split besides the table as I buried my head back into my gadget. He kept talking as he almost flipped my bowl of soup. Surely the fact that a well-known professor of Science was waving Broadway Show tickets in my face would trigger a dance session (maybe, but not today). He was a French physicist in the city for a conference on ‘Molecular Physics and Quantum Chemistry’; that claimed to have found a recent explosion in the ‘milky way’ to further prove ‘the Big Bang Theory’. He was so excited about this revelation, that he showed me where the explosion was recorded and downloaded into his smart phone. I marvelled… but here is what I really marvelled at; the relentless need for ‘man’ made in the image of an Intelligent Creator/Designer to dispute the ever confronting and constantly obvious truth for a lesser (might I be bold to say) non-existent one.

“In the beginning you laid the foundations of the earth, and the heavens are the work of your hands.”
Psalm 102:24-26

For the next hour, Mr ‘Exploding Science’ talked about what this discovery would do for humanity, as I talked about what he and humanity really needed. All the while, desperately trying to protect my bowl of soup! It was impossible for me to see the sense in the fact that  physical properties of molecules that share a chemical bond between atoms and possess certain dynamics and its own kinetics, could rumble together in rotation and vibration, eventually reaching an electronically charged and excitable stage before it explodes and splatters its surrounding. To think that this particular occurrence could produce ‘Viola’ me! With all my connecting tissues and issues and their elaborate function and the divine unction on my life, my emotions, my thoughts and most importantly my ‘spirit man’ that harbors the Spirit of God in me. How could all that I have tested and proven to be real, be a result of  a hodge-podge of dynamics? I liked Physics a lot then, but now it was getting on my nerves:

“In the beginning, Lord, you laid the foundations of the earth, and the heavens are the work of your hands.”
Hebrews 1:9-11, Psalm 102:25.

Here is what they say: “About 15 billion years ago a tremendous explosion started the expansion of the universe. This explosion is known as the Big Bang. At the point of this event all of the matter and energy of space was contained at one point. What existed prior to this event is completely unknown and is a matter of pure speculation. This occurrence was not a conventional explosion but rather an event filling all of space with all of the particles of the embryonic universe rushing away from each other. The Big Bang actually consisted of an explosion of space within itself unlike an explosion of a bomb were fragments are thrown outward. The galaxies were not all clumped together, but rather the Big Bang lay the foundations for the universe. “

“Where were you when I laid the earth’s foundation? Tell me, if you understand.”
Job 38:3-5

There is a God, He is the Almighty Creator. And He still remains the Intelligent Designer, the All Wise, All Knowing, All…

“He set the earth on its foundations; it can never be moved.”
Psalm 104:4-6

“By wisdom the LORD laid the earth’s foundations, by understanding he set the heavens in place;”
Proverbs 3:18-20

“…When he gave the sea its boundary so the waters would not overstep his command, and when he marked out the foundations of the earth.” Proverbs 8:28-30

“For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.”
Romans 1:19-21

“For the foundations of the earth are the LORD’s; on them he has set the world.”
1 Samuel 2:7-9

Let us hope all this talk about explosions creating the world, does not lead to the following passage:-

The earth trembled and quaked, and the foundations of the mountains shook; they trembled because He was angry.
Psalm 18:6-8

Have mercy Oh Lord, for they know not of what they speak. Well now, I have told them.

What shall we render to the Almighty God, the earth belongs to Him and the fullness thereoff. Oh that a thousand tongues, a hundred thousand tongues, a million tongues would raise in adoration to His glorious splendor. He is our God, and there is none besides Him. He is a mighty Warrior and a tender Saviour. We will lift our voices in praise (off-key, on-key or keyless). Sing…!

” Sing to the LORD a new song;
   sing to the LORD, all the earth.
Sing to the LORD, praise his name;
   proclaim his salvation day after day.
Declare his glory among the nations,
   his marvelous deeds among all peoples.

  For great is the LORD and most worthy of praise;
   he is to be feared above all gods.
For all the gods of the nations are idols,
   but the LORD made the heavens.
Splendor and majesty are before him;
   strength and glory are in his sanctuary.

  Ascribe to the LORD, all you families of nations,
   ascribe to the LORD glory and strength.
Ascribe to the LORD the glory due his name;
   bring an offering and come into his courts.
Worship the LORD in the splendor of his holiness;
   tremble before him, all the earth.
Say among the nations, “The LORD reigns.”
   The world is firmly established, it cannot be moved;
   he will judge the peoples with equity.

  Let the heavens rejoice, let the earth be glad;
   let the sea resound, and all that is in it.
Let the fields be jubilant, and everything in them;
   let all the trees of the forest sing for joy.
Let all creation rejoice before the LORD, for he comes,
   he comes to judge the earth.
He will judge the world in righteousness
   and the peoples in his faithfulness.”

(Psalm 96)
