Are You The Cause???

“If anyone causes one of these little ones—those who believe in me—to stumble, it would be better for them if a large millstone were hung around their neck and they were thrown into the sea.”
Mark 9:41-43

Blessings in the precious name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. I received three links (!!!) to one sermon last night that I don’t care to be bothered with. I don’t know why it was sent and I do not want to know. With all due respect to the dear people who sent it, I know you meant well, but I really have moved on to real and redemptive stuff. It is time I wised up and sowed where I belong. I did not feel like writing anytime soon because I have been busy with other things, (namely last night). And I really did not want to off-set the flow of the article before this, but I guess I eventually have to at this point.

I notice that the rest of the world especially Europe invests a lot in prevention than in cure as in the saying; ‘Prevention is better than cure’. In North America; it is more like ‘I shall do what I want to do, when I want to do it and then when I am good and satisfied, I shall kick at the subsequent consequences.’ Well some times when you do decide to kick at the result of your actions, you might really harm and/or lose your toes. The scripture “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you”, has a deeply meditative quality. That means to some extent I put my self in my victims shoe, even if for a second and that slows the process of infliction. So next time we feel a need to be the barometer, of what is obviously out of our reach and influence (of which we once wished it was), let us ask ourselves if it had been ‘ours’ and us, would we still be this indignant and to some extent and in a different way do we not seek the same platitude?

Why should there be a problem, when some of us have achieved what we had hoped for, being inundated with our insecurities, intimidations and comfort people and zones. We surrounded ourselves with the people we were comfortable with and we could easily manipulate. Regardless of what God wanted and planned. Forgetting that He (God) is no respecter of persons and calls who He wants. We molded the house as it pleased us and as it was conducive to our flesh and pushed back God’s desire. Now we are shocked and slighted ‘that water has sought its own level’. Next time we feel a need to throw people out of their God-given ministry, so that our flesh is not overshadowed, and we ostracize and systematically usher them out of the house of God, let us remember that God was not slumbering, neither was He cheering.

I am not in the business of being entertained by what comes naturally to me or sitting muffled and bound when so much lies in me to do. I could not have been in the house of God tied up so that people can feel good about themselves when they feel they have me out-of-the-way. That attitude right there is a recipe for major deliverance and reeks of trouble. I do not see in God’s word where that was a workable formula. That is not my portion (mediocrity) and never will be. Maybe our own ‘doings’ have depleted the house of God and our ‘undoing’ will replenish it right back. Let God decide what He will do since His own house fights His gifts. As for the powerlessness of my wisdom and my ways (which are really not mine); my dears you are so mistaken:

“He replied, “Go tell that fox, ‘I will keep on driving out demons and healing people today and tomorrow, and on the third day I will reach my goal.’ Luke 13:31-33

“The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and you say, ‘Here is a glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners.’
Luke 7:33-35

And should indeed I be guilty of wasting my Fathers resources; I dare say we are all grounded till further notice. I feel a prophecy coming on now…

“So Miriam was confined outside the camp for seven days, and the people did not move on till she was brought back.” Numbers 12:14-16   ‘There will be no lasting progress or advancement untill God’s requirements are met. Remember these are the days of Elijah and Moses’.

Once again, my sincere thanks to those who sent me the sermon link, but I would like to move on in peace and less problems than the past has produced. I have had enough of the negativity and merry-go-round. Now I can be busy doing all the stuff that was deposited in me from the beginning of time and surrounded by people who actually recognize and appreciate it and can be blessed by it… I cherish your concern and embrace your care. But the ball cannot be in my court, can it? Ask God as you pray…

“The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and they say, ‘Here is a glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners.’ But wisdom is proved right by her deeds.”
Matthew 11:18-20

Let’s Talk About… (What You Would Like To Hear)

UPDATE: Due to popular demand and response to this article, I will refrain from an update till further notice. Thank you for reading.

“For if I were skilled in flattery, my Maker would soon take me away.” Job 32:21-22

The Lord woke me up about three o’clock (3 am) this morning and told me to write this blog. Not to say that He did not inspire the others (actually the uninspired ones never get published, simply because they never get written :)). But something about this blog had the ring of urgency to it. Shortly after He put this particular one in my mind, He gave or reminded me of about four other ones. So by 4:30am this morning, my mind was churning, on fire and spewing words. But then again what is new? I thought you should know that the next one the Lord has me to write is entitled ‘TEN THINGS (And Counting) YOU DO NOT (But Should Actually) KNOW ABOUT ME”. I am going to need a ‘huge dose of grace’ to carry that one through but obey the Lord I will. Pray for me for the wisdom to turn a complex and complicated equation into a palatable and simple experience.

Alright, back to the blog at hand. But first and foremost, as always let us see what the Word of the Most high God has to say about this topic or rather the instrument used to perpetuate this situation:

“For such people are not serving our Lord Christ, but their own appetites. By smooth talk and flattery they deceive the minds of naïve people”. Romans 16:17-19

I asked a friend of almost twenty years (we met as infants :)) to describe me with three words. Meticulous was one of the words she used and it included an intense attention to details. I won’t tell you what the other two words were, at least until the next blog. But I must say meticulous is right on the money. You can add to that squeamish and allergic to dirt! That was my only concern in ‘Medical School’. The text and written part was a breeze, bless God for the DNA and genes he graciously gave. However, I would often be found hyper-ventilating when some practical situations became too gruesome and messy. I envisioned a scenario, where I would have to bark orders to a specifically hired hand to carry out what was in my very saturated head. Once in the second year, I had, had one too many chopped off sections of the ‘cranial lobe’ (brain tissues) in my freezer as I studied the nerves. I told my daddy clipping and squinting at the nerves were getting on my nerves! He said rather than avoid the medical field completely, I could switch to Psychology. For now I will vacate that story and how it ended. But I will tell you that Psychology is a dear familiar, good friend and acquaintance of mine.

Two days ago a psychologist friend of mine, who used to be in the School System, but now has her own practice told me she was going to see a movie that was out and playing. This movie had to do with a child that was a ‘Sociopath’ and all the damages he caused. It had been highly acclaimed and very closely done to what actually transpires in real life. She shared with me certain things she had seen happen when she dealt with some cases in the school system. The sociopath was able to destroy relationships, break marriages apart (even their parents), set parents and children at each others throats, had bosses stalking workers, workers harming bosses and every heart wrenching evil you could imagine. And when all was said and done, they walked away ‘scott-free’ and on to their next victim. I flinched in disgust as she regaled me with tale after tale of deeds that lacked enormously in the conscience department. The sociopath lacked one thing that could even restrain a person without the Spirit of God from committing heinous crimes, a conscience.

That means they knew right from wrong, they could decipher what was evil and what was not. They knew certain actions could bear great and irreversible consequences and might even harm them and other people, but they went ahead anyway with their desire. It was always all about them at all costs. Here is what is most bone chilling and appalling, they do it all with the help of supposedly sane and normal people. The sociopath almost hardly displays a violent nature, in fact they are described as sweet and understanding. Part of their ploy is when a male; ‘explain or do it for me one more time.’ When it is a female; it is most likely ‘damsel in distress’. So the sociopath needs constant compassion and affirmation and every other person is the big bad formidable and unkind enemy. I asked my older friend to glean from her thirty years of experience and study how the sociopath was able to pull this ruse with the support of people who should have known better or been prepared after most had probably been burned many times before. She had one word; manipulation the sociopath told people what they wanted to hear and unbeknownst to them ( or maybe known), employed them for detriment and pure evil.

“With flattery he will corrupt those who have violated the covenant, but the people who know their God will firmly resist him.” Daniel 11:31-33

I said to my friend as she scurried to the cinema to see the movie, ‘this type cometh out only by fasting and praying in the Mighty Name of JESUS CHRIST!” Therapy would only put the desire for destruction to sleep till the next temptation arose. Shall we pray…?

Here are the words of a famous (non-religious) Psychologist; who wrote a very popular highly acclaimed book on this topic : 1 in 25 ordinary American has no conscience and can do any thing at all without feeling guilty. ‘Who is the devil you know'”. “The ruthless versus the rest of us: the Doctor (author) claims that 4% of the population are sociopaths who have no capacity to love or to empathise… The doctor (author) details the havoc the sociopath wreaks on unsuspecting individuals, marrying for money, back-stabbing co-workers, or simply messing with people for the fun of it.”

“My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, …” Hosea 4:5-7

It is imperative that we also know that we are not so special or cooler than the rest when the sociopath latches onto us easily than onto the others. It just means that they (the sociopaths) have discovered that we are gullible and we are the most convenient for their present messy situation. Also if I find myself as the sole consoler and frequent denominator for the sociopath when others have wisely pulled their bearings, please stand with me in prayer. This is not normal and it is not right. You can ask GOD Himself. You know what they say; ‘you fool me once you are stupid. You fool me twice then I am really STUPID!’ Which category do you fall in. Are you easily susceptible to manipulation? Then you also need God to deliver you from that need to be affirmed by a lie. What is it going to take for us to wise up? Complete destruction of our existence and God honoring reputation? This is serious my people, may the peace and discernment of God go with us all.

Now chances are you have not heard what you like or had your flesh stroked. But you have heard something liberating and enriching. That is how you know I am not a sociopath, and I with the Spirit of God wish that every person would rise up to their full potential and live a fulfilling life that brings glory and honor to our deserving Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

“You know we never used flattery, nor did we put on a mask to cover up greed—God is our witness.” 1 Thessalonians 2:4-6

“And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear you, when ye depart thence, shake off the dust under your feet for a testimony against them. Verily I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for Sodom and Gomorrha in the day of judgment, than for that city.” Mark 6:10-12

“He shall call to the heavens from above, and to the earth, that he may judge his people.”  Psalm 50:3-5

“Moses saw that the people were running wild and that Aaron had let them get out of control and so become a laughingstock to their enemies. So he stood at the entrance to the camp and said, “Whoever is for the LORD, come to me.” And all the Levites rallied to him. Then he said to them, “This is what the LORD, the God of Israel, says: ‘Each man strap a sword to his side. Go back and forth through the camp from one end to the other, each killing his brother and friend and neighbor.’”  The Levites did as Moses commanded, and that day about three thousand of the people died. Then Moses said, “You have been set apart to the LORD today, for you were against your own sons and brothers, and he has blessed you this day.” The next day Moses said to the people, “You have committed a great sin. But now I will go up to the LORD; perhaps I can make atonement for your sin.” So Moses went back to the LORD and said, “Oh, what a great sin these people have committed! They have made themselves gods of gold. But now, please forgive their sin—but if not, then blot me out of the book you have written.”  The LORD replied to Moses, “Whoever has sinned against me I will blot out of my book.  Now go, lead the people to the place I spoke of, and my angel will go before you. However, when the time comes for me to punish, I will punish them for their sin.”

“When the messengers returned to Jacob, they said, “We went to your brother Esau, and now he is coming to meet you, and four hundred men are with him.” In great fear and distress Jacob divided the people who were with him into two groups, and the flocks and herds and camels as well.  He thought, “If Esau comes and attacks one group, the group that is left may escape.”  He himself went on ahead and bowed down to the ground seven times as he approached his brother.  … He spent the night there, and from what he had with him he selected a gift for his brother Esau:  two hundred female goats and twenty male goats, two hundred ewes and twenty rams,  thirty female camels with their young, forty cows and ten bulls, and twenty female donkeys and ten male donkeys …For he thought, “I will pacify him with these gifts I am sending on ahead; later, when I see him, perhaps he will receive me.”  So Jacob’s gifts went on ahead of him, but he himself spent the night in the camp.

“Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows.  Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life.

“While Pilate was sitting on the judge’s seat, his wife sent him this message: “Don’t have anything to do with that innocent man, for I have suffered a great deal today in a dream because of him .” Matthew 27:18-20

“Then God came to Laban the Aramean in a dream at night and said to him, “Be careful not to say anything to Jacob, either good or bad.”

On the twenty-fourth day of the same month, the Israelites gathered together, fasting and wearing sackcloth and putting dust on their heads.  Those of Israelite descent had separated themselves from all foreigners. They stood in their places and confessed their sins and the sins of their ancestors.  They stood where they were and read from the Book of the Law of the LORD their God for a quarter of the day, and spent another quarter in confession and in worshiping the LORD their God.

“On the twenty-fourth day of the first month, as I was standing on the bank of the great river, the Tigris,  I looked up and there before me was a man dressed in linen, with a belt of fine gold from Uphaz around his waist …I, Daniel, was the only one who saw the vision; those who were with me did not see it, but such terror overwhelmed them that they fled and hid themselves.  So I was left alone, gazing at this great vision;…A hand touched me and set me trembling on my hands and knees.  He said, “Daniel, you who are highly esteemed, consider carefully the words I am about to speak to you, and stand up, for I have now been sent to you.”…Then he continued, “Do not be afraid, Daniel. Since the first day that you set your mind to gain understanding and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard, and I have come in response to them. …Now I have come to explain to you what will happen to your people in the future, for the vision concerns a time yet to come.”

“But I will hope continually, and will yet praise thee more and more.” Psalm 71:13-15

You amaze me, You handsome, tanned, tall Nazarene (You are tall aren’t you? Good, just checking) called Jesus the Christ. Who also happens to be God. Let the limited judgement and words of man remain empty and powerless as they straddle their camp of friends. It is not who man approves and supports that thrives, it is who You favor. Let man present those they are comfortable with as wonderful, in due season what You know as wonderful will manifest. Help me to focus on honest sightings and ignore their baseless mocking. I am so guilty of constantly looking at junk and wallowing in the junk yard and observing the noisy clanking of junky metals. When all the while I have the ‘Princess suite’ and I am surrounded by jewels and potential jewels who are all in your hands and do your bidding. You never let me simmer or be oppressed for two seconds regardless of who is on my side or not. In fact you told me it will be a sin if I am ever in a state of morose. Because you speak to me directly and you take care of me directly. You have ordered ME never to worry because I have a covenant of ________ with you. Let us keep that one between us shall we Oh Great ONE.

I am so blessed to know you, not just for appearance sake but to really know you and the exceeding greatness of Your Sovereignty. How amazing, that in twenty-four hours (24 hrs), You mobilized a sample of the ends of the earth, regardless of their race and religion to cater to me and put a smile on my face, just because you are my Father. Even my earthly daddy could not have pulled that stunt and no human could either for that matter! There is the Buddhist SAG committee member who took me to the spa to cheer me up because I looked sad! Thank you Lord I see a marvellous change in her, she has softened enough to let me tease her every now and then, and give You the glory. Her religion teaches that we are all responsible for our fortunes and what we are born with. If it is good then we take the glory for making it good. I remember what she told me the first time we met… I said no ma’am (please do not get me in trouble), to God be the glory!

Anyway, then there is my Asian friend who owns the store and wanted me to accompany her to Miami on a business trip all expenses paid by her husband (a faithful doting man I might add). She said I had a good eye for design and fashion, hmm. Then the European Physician was concerned that I did not pick up my phone. Are you alright? Came the concerned query. Then my very southern American Mama brought me a bowl of fish stew (mm delicioso!) and gave me a lecture about not letting haters distract me from my calling. Then she told me a story about the ‘Tuskegee Soldiers’ (she is my American history source). Then I later went to that high security place where you had to be frisked by security before you could go in, but those two beefy looking giants just waved me on with a smile like I was… That felt good and I laid a hand on each their shoulders and blessed them. And indeed they are blessed!

All these in the past 24 hours. If I made a movie on these clips, there is no saying the praise and worship that would rise to heaven 🙂 hint, hint Father God. So on that note someone strike up the heavenly band please:

Why should I feel discouraged/Why do the shadows come/And why does my heart feel lonely/And long for heaven and home/When Jesus is my portion/A Constant friend is He/His eye is on the Sparrow/And I know He watches me/So I sing because I’m happy/And I sing because I’m free/His eye is on the sparrow/And I know He watches me/So I sing because I’m happy/And I sing because I’m free/His eye is on the sparrow/And I know He watches/And I know He watches/And I know He watches me

Oh before I forget, here are two verses God gave me this morning, dedicated to all the inspired writers and their agents of promotion both editorially and otherwise: And the sponsors of the agents of promotion. You are but man. Be very careful your cause for lamentation might just be around the corner. Hold of on the jesting and mocking. You day is at hand. I know of what and why I speak. I also know about the thorn sticking out in my flesh. In due season we will all reap what we sowed. Let God be true and every man a liar.

“Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the LORD keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain.” Psalm 127:1-3

“And Moses and Aaron went in unto Pharaoh, and they did so as the LORD had commanded: and Aaron cast down his rod before Pharaoh, and before his servants, and it became a serpent. Then Pharaoh also called the wise men and the sorcerers: now the magicians of Egypt, they also did in like manner with their enchantments. For they cast down every man his rod, and they became serpents: but Aaron’s rod swallowed up their rods.”  Exodus 7:10-12

We should all stay on our lane and stop attempting to use our power and position (which is not set in stone) to mock and dis-credit others that do not belong in our camp.  A position does not promise a sorrow and tragedy free tomorrow. What is of God will eventually eat up what is of the flesh. Also the proud statistics of man does not prove that God’s name is being glorified or that we are doing a great job while others are not. When we win a million souls and affect a million lives positively and for good then we are on the right path. The ‘superstars’ get millions of hits in a day. This humble unknown and unpromoted soul who just showed up yesterday against all odds at the playground of the great, connected and privilegded ones, is just a few numbers shy of 20,000 then what?

Aaargh! I hope the heavenly band is still playing: ‘There’s no one like Jehovah, there is no one like Jehovah…

HERE GO I AGAIN… (Lamentations of the Orphan girl)

Oh Lord how long must I put up with these wicked, uncaring, pedestal perched repeat offenders? They feel I am their punching bag. Time and again the same repeat offenders and their supporters wound and offend but every one keeps quiet because they are all clicks and clacks and mothers and aunts and sisters and brothers. They are justified to punch score and move on. But the minute I lift a finger, the perfect pedestal perchers who are untouchable have a word to preach. Maybe if they preached to the people in their vicinity before they repeatedly offend we may all be moving on.

This time around we are all going to be bleeding at the same time (EVERY ONE OF US, I promise!!!) then we can happily share the mercy package and hopefully respect first the word of God and then each other. Wicked, uncaring, self-centered hypocrites!

UPDATE: Thank You Heavenly Father! You are always quick to me with Your word of comfort. I would share it, but the people are very wicked, self-centered and bent on promoting evil. They only think of themselves and their families and clicks. They forget what you said to Pharaoh, since everyone thinks about preserving theirs but destroying yours:

“Then say to Pharaoh, ‘This is what the LORD says: Israel is my firstborn son,  and I told you, “Let my son go, so he may worship me.” But you refused to let him go; so I will kill your firstborn son.’” Exodus 4:22-23

I am thankful that You see their actions, even though they think all you see is the harvest of sin and rebellion. I am weary of their constant evil ways and evil promotion. I refuse to continue being their punching bag. Everyone has to partake of the pain they inflict and not cry for mercy after a satisfying wave of evil.  Please is it possible not to set eyes on any of  them ever again???  I have never seen a bunch of people profess something to the world as they try to look good, meanwhile you look bad by their actions, rebellion and how they treat those who do not belong to their clicks. Watch as they curse me out as the villian and complainer tomorrow. Anyway Thank you for this word:

Joseph (CO) is a fruitful vine,
a fruitful vine near a spring,
whose branches climb over a wall.
With bitterness archers attacked him(her);
they shot at him(her) with hostility.
But his(her) bow remained steady,
his(her) strong arms stayed limber, (Thank You Jesus!)
because of the hand of the Mighty One of Jacob,
because of the Shepherd, the Rock of Israel,
because of your father’s God, who helps you,
because of the Almighty, who blesses you
with blessings of the skies above,
blessings of the deep springs below,
blessings of the breast and womb.
Your father’s blessings are greater (yes they are!)
than the blessings of the ancient mountains,
than the bounty of the age-old hills.
Let all these rest on the head of Joseph , on the brow of the prince among his brothers.  Genesis 49:22-26

“A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.” James 1:7-9

“And unto man he said, Behold, the fear of the LORD, that is wisdom; and to depart from evil is understanding.” Job 28:27-28

When I was a little girl, I enjoyed watching a certain ‘British mystery T.V. series’. I would tell you the name now, but they don’t pay me for advertisement. Anyway the name alone tells you that things would turn out in the end the way you least expected it to. It was an incredibly well done mystery series. Sometimes it began with someone holding a bloody knife, the money bag and a mask and running. That sure is enough physical evidence to pin the murder or crime on them, isn’t it? Well true to the name of the masterpiece you would be shocked who the culprit was or you would be shocked at the greater parts that were played by the peripheral offenders. I always came out of every episode perplexed that the person holding the knife in the beginning picked it up after the real killer plunged in the knife…

Having said all that, in life we see events like that mystery show. If we only go by evidence that is visible or words we have heard, we are susceptible to be spiritually or emotionally duped. This is why it pays to truthfully and sincerely walk with Christ. The Spirit of God in a true christian will repel and scare the game playing church goer and worker. Only Almighty God the Creator, sees and knows the true story. Even when people act like they are going about God’s business. More or less they are actually in ‘the full time ministry of pathological lying’That is why I am most blessed and comfortable by the leading of the Holy Spirit. I listen for His instructions at every turn and move, because He alone knows who will eventually bend their knee to HIM! The rest would keep dragging around their junk, in the hopes that junk might become jewel and explaining their sins to the likes of themselves. Pride (Luciferic spirit) in the highest degree in action! Of such a person beware…

“Confidence in an unfaithful man in time of trouble is like a broken tooth, and a foot out of joint.” Proverbs 25:18-20

The favor of God will protect you from the obvious hateful and the not so obvious. Most people think that all God sees is the outward evidence of hardship that we are to expect from life or when we are having a bad day. Well here is a revelation: sin and willful disobedience will give you many a bad days. How different life would be for them if they knew that God saw their double lives, lies, wicked dealings and the handling of truth in unrighteousness. Much like Psalm 139, they would know that nothing is hidden from God. He is the Alpha and the Omega.

When God sent Jonah to Nineveh, I believe that Jonah felt it was a waste of time. Most people preach on that book to say Jonah did not want the people of Nineveh to be saved. No I believe he felt their flamboyant display of sin and disobedience was too far gone to be redeemed. But the God who sees and knows the end from the beginning, knew that the Ninevites would repent when accosted with truth. It is never the loud and abrasive ones that are hard-hearted; it is the seemingly quiet and bashful acting ones that concoct evil schemes and plans that they bring for God to bless. They lead astray unknowing supporters (and ‘silly’ women like them “For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts,” 2 Timothy 3:5-7). They are calculating in their speech and actions, foolishly convinced that everyone else is stupid while they are wise.

“A man shall be commended according to his wisdom: but he that is of a perverse heart shall be despised.” Proverbs 12:7-9

“It is as sport to a fool to do mischief: but a man of understanding hath wisdom.” Proverbs 10:22-24

“In the lips of him that hath understanding wisdom is found: but a rod is for the back of him that is void of understanding.” Proverbs 10:12-14

But God knows and God sees everything. And gallantly in His wisdom protects His sincere child from their web of deceit and lies. Though the liars try to rub shoulders with the true disciples, God makes a demarcation between those that are truly bent on making a 180 degree turn to please Him and those that are bent on promoting their sorry deceitful selves as righteous and anointed.

“The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever.” Psalm 111:9-10

Thank you LORD for deliverance and seperation from nonsense, that have made peace with the land of perpetual empty, morose and miserable. As long as the flesh can perform, then keep the noise coming. And God please protect children that are raised in falsehood and lies. Little wonder young people detest church and rebel against (so-called) christians these days…

“Abstain from all appearance of evil.” 1 Thessalonians 5:21-23

I was walking by that famous Ice-cream shop for the umpteenth time within a  three-hour period, as I ran my errands. And each time I walked by, I gawked at how people could stand in line for hours just to get some colorful and artistically crafted piece of ice with a name that also belongs to the ‘colorful category’. Next thing I know, to the shock and amazement of my very busy self; I was standing in line howbeit restlessly so. As I looked around in guilt and foreboding for wasting precious time this way, in order to satisfy my flesh. Therefore, I figured to make myself feel better about the whole debacle I might as well memorize scripture verses while standing in line. The only problem was that my Bible was ‘mia’. So I picked up my phone to call any sinner within earshot and evangelize, but I did not have their numbers. So there and then I formulated a business idea, publish the ‘Red Blood pages for sinners’, with the red emanating from the blood of Jesus Christ. Still my time was ticking away and the queue was no better for it. Each time I wanted to step away from the line in utter disgust at such silly cravings, my feet felt like lead and would not move.

Then it happened, I overheard their conversation as I also heard the Holy Spirit say “… Be still and listen”. The two ladies behind me in the line were deep in conversation. Lady # one, asked her friend about someone we will call “Ms F’ in their work place. Lady # two said she did not like to speak to ‘Ms F’ because she (lady #2) thought she (Ms F) was weird. Lady #1 agreed but countered that ‘Ms F’ always looked good and well put together. Lady #2 agreed and went further to say that not only did she (Ms F) always look nicely put together and organized, but had great poise and mannerism without an ounce of hypocrisy. They both went ahead to agree on a story that also shed light on Ms F’s integrity and truthfulness. They finally ended the conversation by reiterating the fact that every person in their work environment knew Ms. F to be real, truthful and consistent in any situation. And had been like that  for many years.

I marvelled and dutifully forgot that I was eaves-dropping as I almost fell into their arms. Miffed and miserable, I made haste to compose myself. I still had one unanswered and daunting question though. If Ms. F was ‘all that and a bag of chips’, then why did they not like her and think her weird. God had a ready answer (What a GOD!). She was a christian. The Spirit of God in her, made her ‘stick out like a sore thumb’ and her refusal to participate in debauchery, compromise and a double-life; made her weird as it pertained to them. But, this much they could not deny ( and for years had observed) she was the real deal and her God approved of her dealings!

“Let not then your good be evil spoken of:” Romans 14:15-17

I finally got my ice-cream which was good, because by now I was hot and bothered. As I ate away on that delicacy, I submitted to a Holy Spirit inventory. Humbly I came to the throne of grace with my heavy burden of sin and bag of filthy righteousness (more likely bag of tricks) that stunk to high heavens.  Why should I waste more time on prideful plans and pitiful pet projects, that have nothing to do with God. As I deceive myself, and hope I have deceived every one else in my wake. God was more than willing to comply. Like the father of the prodigal, he ran to meet me. Nothing pleases Him more than the cry of a truly repentant heart; that indeed turns from evil and not just makes a show of turning.

“But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.” Isaiah 64:5-7

Someday hopefully, though the masses may think me weird. May they at least say she was sincere and consistent in her belief. Maybe like Ms. F (F stands for Faithful), God too can show me off.

“Behold, thou desirest truth in the inward parts: and in the hidden part thou shalt make me to know wisdom.” Psalm 51:5-7

So, tell me again: What is your story?

“If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.” 2 Chronicles 7:13-15

“If anyone turns a deaf ear to my instruction, even their prayers are detestable.” Proverbs 28:8-10

” Now Abel kept flocks, and Cain worked the soil.  In the course of time Cain brought some of the fruits of the soil as an offering to the LORD.  And Abel also brought an offering—fat portions from some of the firstborn of his flock. The LORD looked with favor on Abel and his offering, but on Cain and his offering he did not look with favor. So Cain was very angry, and his face was downcast. Then the LORD said to Cain, “Why are you angry? Why is your face downcast?  If you do what is right, will you not be accepted? But if you do not do what is right, sin is crouching at your door; it desires to have you, but you must rule over it.”

“Search me, O God, and know my heart; Try me, and know my anxieties;  And see if there is any wicked way in me, And lead me in the way everlasting.” Psalm 139:23-24

“After these things had been done, the leaders came to me and said, “The people of Israel, including the priests and the Levites, have not kept themselves separate from the neighboring peoples with their detestable practices, like those of the Canaanites, Hittites, Perizzites, Jebusites, Ammonites, Moabites, Egyptians and Amorites. They have taken some of their daughters as wives for themselves and their sons, and have mingled the holy race with the peoples around them. And the leaders and officials have led the way in this unfaithfulness.”

When I heard this, I tore my tunic and cloak, pulled hair from my head and beard and sat down appalled. Then everyone who trembled at the words of the God of Israel gathered around me because of this unfaithfulness of the exiles. And I sat there appalled until the evening sacrifice. Then, at the evening sacrifice, I rose from my self-abasement, with my tunic and cloak torn, and fell on my knees with my hands spread out to the LORD my God and prayed:

“I am too ashamed and disgraced, my God, to lift up my face to you, because our sins are higher than our heads and our guilt has reached to the heavens. From the days of our ancestors until now, our guilt has been great. Because of our sins, we and our kings and our priests have been subjected to the sword and captivity, to pillage and humiliation at the hand of foreign kings, as it is today.

“But now, for a brief moment, the LORD our God has been gracious in leaving us a remnant and giving us a firm place in his sanctuary, and so our God gives light to our eyes and a little relief in our bondage. Though we are slaves, our God has not forsaken us in our bondage. He has shown us kindness in the sight of the kings of Persia: He has granted us new life to rebuild the house of our God and repair its ruins, and he has given us a wall of protection in Judah and Jerusalem.

“But now, our God, what can we say after this? For we have forsaken the commands  you gave through your servants the prophets when you said: ‘The land you are entering to possess is a land polluted by the corruption of its peoples. By their detestable practices they have filled it with their impurity from one end to the other… “What has happened to us is a result of our evil deeds and our great guilt, and yet, our God, you have punished us less than our sins deserved and have given us a remnant like this…  LORD, the God of Israel, you are righteous! We are left this day as a remnant. Here we are before you in our guilt, though because of it not one of us can stand in your presence.”

“Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.” James 5:15-17

“Because your heart was tender, and you humbled yourself before God when you heard His words against this place and against its inhabitants, and you humbled yourself before Me, and you tore your clothes and wept before Me, I also have heard you,” says the LORD.” 2 Chronicles 34:26-28

“The smoke of the incense, together with the prayers of God’s people, went up before God from the angel’s hand.”  Revelation 8:3-5

“Do not remember the former things, Nor consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing, Now it shall spring forth; Shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.” Isaiah 43:18-19

“But You, O LORD, are a shield for me, My glory and the One who lifts up my head.”  Psalm 3:2-4

How do I start to tell this story

The One and only lifter of my head

Who for my ills sure profusely bled

When on Calvary His blood was shed

My Redeemer, My Glory

Though some details if told be gory

The seldom trod and thorn infested trail

As I trudged on, my very being often frail

Yet His faithful hands, never let derail

My Saviour, My Glory

Even now, recollection a tad bit blurry

Always was divine choice from birth

As many a foe diligently sought my mirth

And hoped a ghastly smear of dirt

My God, My Glory

Yes I often toy with allegory

But this journey was not child’s play

When as a sacrifice my life I lay

All fleshly quest, I knew to slay

My Jesus, My Glory

The onset of my destiny, was not to be in a hurry

As I waited for He who crowns me, my very clout

My call and purpose, to learn what He is about

Today in victory, with Heaven I rejoice and shout

My Christ, My Glory

“Who is she who looks forth as the morning, Fair as the moon, Clear as the sun, Awesome as an army with banners?” Song of Solomon 6:9-11

Repentance /AND/ Renewal /NOT/ Resolution

“And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”  Romans 12:2  (KJV)

“But he who was of the bondwoman was born after the flesh; but he of the freewoman was by promise.”
Galatians 4:22-24  (KJV)

“Paul was not dealing with sin in this chapter of Galatians, but with the relation of the natural to the spiritual. The natural can be turned into the spiritual only through sacrifice. Without this a person will lead a divided life. Why did God demand that the natural must be sacrificed? God did not demand it. It is not God’s perfect will, but His permissive will. God’s perfect will was for the natural to be changed into the spiritual through obedience. Sin is what made it necessary for the natural to be sacrificed.

Abraham had to offer up Ishmael before he offered up Isaac (see Genesis 21:8-14). Some of us are trying to offer up spiritual sacrifices to God before we have sacrificed the natural. The only way we can offer a spiritual sacrifice to God is to “present [our] bodies a living sacrifice . . .” (Romans 12:1). Sanctification means more than being freed from sin. It means the deliberate commitment of myself to the God of my salvation, and being willing to pay whatever it may cost.

If we do not sacrifice the natural to the spiritual, the natural life will resist and defy the life of the Son of God in us and will produce continual turmoil. This is always the result of an undisciplined spiritual nature. We go wrong because we stubbornly refuse to discipline ourselves physically, morally, or mentally. We excuse ourselves by saying, “Well, I wasn’t taught to be disciplined when I was a child.” Then discipline yourself now! If you don’t, you will ruin your entire personal life for God.

God is not actively involved with our natural life as long as we continue to pamper and gratify it. But once we are willing to put it out in the desert and are determined to keep it under control, God will be with it. He will then provide wells and oases and fulfill all His promises for the natural”  (TOotN/MUFHH/OC)

“And the LORD shall utter his voice before his army: for his camp is very great: for he is strong that executeth his word: for the day of the LORD is great and very terrible; and who can abide it? Therefore also now, saith the LORD, turn ye even to me with all your heart, and with fasting, and with weeping, and with mourning: And rend your heart, and not your garments, and turn unto the LORD your God: for he is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and repenteth him of the evil.”

“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.”
Romans 12:1-3 (NIV)

“Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.”  Romans 12:2  (NLV)

God will not give a new revelation or promise to an unrepentant and old mind-set. When there is a turn around and acceptance of His ways, then there is a release of the flood gates of direction and favor. An old and flesh oriented mind-set (unrenewed), cannot handle the things and ways of the Spirit of God.

“And no man putteth new wine into old bottles: else the new wine doth burst the bottles, and the wine is spilled, and the bottles will be marred: but new wine must be put into new bottles.” Mark 2:21-23

“And no man putteth new wine into old bottles; else the new wine will burst the bottles, and be spilled, and the bottles shall perish. But new wine must be put into new bottles; and both are preserved.” Luke 5:37-38
