Alleluia!!! So much can happen in three years. Even further, so much can be accomplished in three years if Christ JESUS is holding the reins. Three years ago, HIS Majesty God and Creator of the universe said write and write I did. It was on the cusp of a sad news I heard, the tragic death of a beloved Pastor that this amazing snare snapping, bondage breaking site was born! The writing was always in me. I have been writing since I was 5 years old, but this dimension was set rolling 3 years ago. From the incredible feedback and hits this site got, I obeyed my call and God did HIS thing (as always).

I don’t know where OfGodthegospelandglamour/grace goes from here, but I know the ONE who inspired it does. My heartfelt and sincere thanks to all who partook and atimes ruminated on what was served on this special palate. You were a part of divine history, strategically and systematically positioned to affect humanity. Never let anyone tell you differently. I have been blessed with other platforms to feed, and the weight is full. The Esther Project, the Daniel, the David, the Joseph and the list goes on. But I have been bountifully equipped, prepared, sharpened and polished for such a time as this…. To whom much is given, much is required and it is all good!!!

Thank you once again for reading, distributing and believing. Your reward He prepares and He will dispense it even at this side of eternity.

God bless you.

IS THERE NOT A CAUSE? (In these days of Samuel and David)

Posted on

And David said, “What have I done now? Is there not a cause?”
1 Samuel 17:28-30

There was poor little David tending the stinking sheep at the back of the pasture furthermost away from any civilization known to man. All he heard in place of melody and technically synchronized sounds were the angry bleating of goats and snoring sheep. Do sheep snore? I do not know, we may have to ask a sheep keeper. But I might have heard that particular specie grunting though. Anyway that is not the point of this blog. As I was saying; David seemed forgotten and irrelevant. We can only imagine how his own family treated him. Actually we get a glimpse of it in the first book of Samuel, the seventeenth chapter.

So he asked Jesse, “Are these all the sons you have?” “There is still the youngest,” Jesse answered. “He is tending the sheep.” Samuel said, “Send for him; we will not sit down until he arrives.”
1 Samuel 16:10-12

Early in the morning David left the flock in the care of a shepherd, loaded up and set out, as Jesse had directed. He reached the camp as the army was going out to its battle positions, shouting the war cry.
1 Samuel 17:19-21

David shows up, obediently on an errand from his ‘Father’. He was bearing provisions that was supposed to nourish, strengthen and encourage his brothers. Unbeknownst to David, a different kind of war was brewing and with it came a lot of noise. Unfortunately the noise was not a result of God‘s people praising Him (they were cowering in fear!), it was the enemy’s rants that inundated the air. So in steps this slight lad, seemingly inexperienced and stinking of sheep dung! Oh, that stench makes me want to stop now… But I must finish. This lad had been in training, in ways the so-called warriors (ministers) never knew or would have wanted to be trained. The bear with crumpled bones and the (dead) lion with a ripped jaw were but some little evidence of what went down in ‘boot-camp Holy Ghost‘.  Back there in the wilderness was treachery, sorrow, rejection and the pain of expulsion all rolled in one. No one knew, not even David. Only the Captain of the Lord’s Host, had the battle plan and the outcome.

But David said to Saul, “Your servant has been keeping his father’s sheep. When a lion or a bear came and carried off a sheep from the flock,
1 Samuel 17:33-35

When Eliab, David’s oldest brother, heard him speaking with the men, he burned with anger at him and asked, “Why have you come down here? And with whom did you leave those few sheep in the wilderness? I know how conceited you are and how wicked your heart is; you came down only to watch the battle.”
1 Samuel 17:27-29

David’s arrival, represented the presence of the One Who chose, recruited and endorsed him. Therefore when he showed up at the battle field, the giant became louder knowing that a threat had indeed been presented (never mind that he feigned insult). While his brothers became angry at their own inability to live-up to the reputation they had often purported. So they demanded he leave their turf (sounds familiar?) NB: Claiming to be ready for the battle, does not actually make you ready for the battle. One word to describe the excitement mentioned above: Manifestation! Yes the devil and the flesh will begin to get restless once the Spirit of the Almighty God shows up in the devil-induced and man-made carnival. Well back to the Captain (never forget it is all about Him), He still had a plan and had His prophet to jumpstart it!

The prophet Samuel, was God’s man of the hour. He spent time with God, God spoke to him and through him. God would send him to pull out and inaugurate His chosen vessel. A vessel God Himself formed, prepared and anointed. While man thought he knew how things would go down; think Jesse and his sons Abinadab and Shammah. God’s plan was already in motion. So keep your hair on Jesse (from falling off as a result of shock), Pack your bags Saul (time to go!), stand aside Abinadab and Shammah (your carnality and envy is a hindrance). Can Samuel please step forward; God has an assignment for him…

[ Samuel Anoints David ]   The LORD said to Samuel, “How long will you mourn for Saul, since I have rejected him as king over Israel? Fill your horn with oil and be on your way; I am sending you to Jesse of Bethlehem. I have chosen one of his sons to be king.”
1 Samuel 16:1-3

The ONE (A reminder!)

Posted on

“Can you raise your voice to the clouds
and cover yourself with a flood of water?
Do you send the lightning bolts on their way?
Do they report to you, ‘Here we are’?” Job 38:34-36

Who knew lightning bolts had an attendance sheet and had to clock in every now and then as they answer to their Boss the Creator of the Universe. To the rest of us we get struck by the bolts if we are in the way or not careful enough. In a time and era when society boasts of freedom and vast amounts of religions to choose from, we do well to remember the ONE who spoke into the colossal void that once was and formed the earth. ” In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.” Genesis 1:1-3 .   The ONE who took soil in His hand and after a ‘play-dough’ moment, breathed His very soul into that mast and man came to be.

That sounds more plausible to my ‘fearfully and wonderfully’  made ears, than the fact that I was a result of an explosive splatter of atomic molecules strewn across a ‘dinosaur diaspora‘ that eventually morphed together into ‘me’. I beg to differ. I do not know about you, but I see the deliberate act of an intelligent Immortal and a divine Artist every time I look in the mirror, express an emotion or display a talent (or lack thereof). “I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.” Psalm 139:13-15

In Genesis Chapter 2, we are shown another amazing feat that only ONE that has all knowledge and power can bring to pass. In verse 21, the word of God tells us that in order to get a SUITABLE helpmate for man, he put him to sleep and surgically but gingerly extracted one rib from his chest. And here is the part that separates the many idols from the ONE. I wonder which one (rib) He picked, the true, the false or the ones that just float. How long did it take Him to extract the rib He chose, from its attached vertebrae. In the process did He severe a nerve or two, or burst some arteries. Since man is not one rib short of normal or breathing lopsided, I guess it was all done with deft and knowing hands and absolute precision. He would know what to do he designed and put it all in place. From that one rib, He made woman and brought her to man. “Then the LORD God made a woman from the rib he had taken out of the man, and he brought her to the man.” Genesis 2:21-23

Fast forward to the New Testament (not that the old is irrelevant) to encounter the greatest deed of all times. The deed that keeps giving and producing life eternal. In one final attempt to reconcile the beings He created for His pleasure and fellowship, God took on the flesh of man and submitted to an excruciating, humiliating and an unprecedented death at the Cross of Calvary. That there may be hope for you and for me when the final curtain falls on this side of time. The mercy and grace of the ONE true and capable and might I add… only God. “‘The Son of Man must be delivered over to the hands of sinners, be crucified and on the third day be raised again.’ ” Luke 24:6-8 “Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is One.” Deuteronomy 6:3-5

Bow with me and worship the ONE. God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. The ONE Triune GOD. ”

Psalm 148

Praise the Lord.

Praise the Lord from the heavens;
praise him in the heights above.
Praise him, all his angels;
praise him, all his heavenly hosts.
Praise him, sun and moon;
praise him, all you shining stars.
Praise him, you highest heavens
and you waters above the skies.

Let them praise the name of the Lord,
for at his command they were created,
and he established them for ever and ever—
he issued a decree that will never pass away.

Praise the Lord from the earth,
you great sea creatures and all ocean depths,
lightning and hail, snow and clouds,
stormy winds that do his bidding,
you mountains and all hills,
    fruit trees and all cedars,
10 wild animals and all cattle,
    small creatures and flying birds,
11 kings of the earth and all nations,
you princes and all rulers on earth,
12 young men and women,
old men and children… Praise the Lord.

One Man, One Mission, One Message

Posted on

“That the Messiah would suffer and, as the first to rise from the dead, would bring the message of light to his own people and to the Gentiles.”Acts 26:22-24

“That God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation.” 2 Corinthians 5:18-20

John 3:16 must be the most known and quoted verse of the Bible, yet people seem to have lost its meaning. God was still interested in reconciling the world he created back to Himself, so He devised a mind-boggling, sacrificial and unthinkable plan. He sent His only begotten Son to come and pay the price that a sinful humanity owed. Actually, since Jesus was God in flesh; it only means God took it one step further and took on flesh to come Himself. Kind of puts a new spin on the notion that: ‘if you want something done, you do it yourself’.

The understanding of the technicality of the mystery that is the trinity, is not what God has called us to unravel. We are simply to believe like little children, on the finished work of Calvary. That a holy God the Creator, Who also sits as the Judge of the world took of His robe of righteousness, stepped over to the other side where the guilty abode and propitiated the consequences of sin. Then He stepped right back to His throne and judgement seat put on His robe of righteousness once again, and proclaimed “It is finished”. The debt had been paid and the ultimate Judge was satisfied.

Today, unbeknownst to humanity, creation yearns for the inhabitation of its Creator. The vacuüm created by our separation from the only One who satisfies is gaping and ravenous. Man is in an endless and hopeless scamper for an answer. The solution remains the same; it is found in one Man who trod this terrestrial strip over 2,000 years ago (Jesus Christ, the Son of God), with a mission to save us from our sins and a message of reconciliation.

Would you let someone know the ‘good news’ that is the Gospel today?

“Fellow children of Abraham and you God-fearing Gentiles, it is to us that this message of salvation has been sent.” Acts 13:25-27  “And you also were included in Christ when you heard the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation. When you believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit,” Ephesians 1:12-14

Against You??? (Hardly)

Posted on

“Their father Jacob said to them, “You have deprived me of my children. Joseph is no more and Simeon is no more, and now you want to take Benjamin. Everything is against me!”
Genesis 42:35-37

Have you ever looked at your circumstance and situation and thought every thing is surely working against me or at least going against what I planned and expected. You are probably right it is. However, if you are the redeemed of the Lord and you love, trust and obey him, then He is more than able and sure willing to flip things around and bring a smile to your face. The book of Romans says: “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to his purpose.”  Romans 8:27-29.

God is obligated to make sure things are tidied up for your good, simply because He has called you for his purposes. You were made to be a light to this generation and subsequently or simultaneously bring glory to His ever worthy name! Will the enemy cause havoc, heart ache and chaos? But of course, that is his job. But your job is to focus on the Faithful and True One and praise him as you go along.

Jacob (Israel) will eventually see that the temporary loss of his son was to fulfill thousands of years of prophecy. God had allowed Joseph to be a victim of his brothers envy and jealousy to make a way for the immigration of the Israelites to Egypt. This paved the way eventually for the ‘GREAT I AM’ to be introduced first to the Israelites through Moses and Aaron, their surrounding neighbours and enemies alike, and then the rest of the world. Then from the ‘plagues’ through to the Passover and the Exodus, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob was God indeed!

So, I ask you; do you still feel disadvantaged? Hold on in faith and expectation and watch the Almighty God flip things in your favour.

Festive Seder table (Passover)

[ Christ’s Sacrifice Once for All ] The law is only a shadow of the good things that are coming—not the realities themselves. For this reason it can never, by the same sacrifices repeated endlessly year after year, make perfect those who draw near to worship.” Hebrews 10:1-3

“The LORD said to Moses and Aaron in Egypt, “This month is to be for you the first month, the first month of your year. Tell the whole community of Israel that on the tenth day of this month each man is to take a lamb for his family, one for each household. If any household is too small for a whole lamb, they must share one with their nearest neighbor, having taken into account the number of people there are. You are to determine the amount of lamb needed in accordance with what each person will eat. “The animals you choose must be year-old males without defect, and you may take them from the sheep or the goats.” Exodus 12:1-5

God was specific about the animal to be used for the sacrifice. It had to be male, young and without defects or inconsistencies. The lamb for the sacrifice had to be perfect. The amount of meat prepared had to be right for each person and household. There would be no deficiencies or waste. It had to be sufficient!

“That same night they are to eat the meat roasted over the fire, along with bitter herbs, and bread made without yeast. Do not eat the meat raw or boiled in water, but roast it over a fire—with the head, legs and internal organs. Do not leave any of it till morning; if some is left till morning, you must burn it.” Exodus 12: 8-10

[ John Testifies About Jesus ] “The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, “Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!” John 1:28-30

“Get rid of the old yeast, so that you may be a new unleavened batch—as you really are. For Christ, our Passover lamb, has been sacrificed.” 1 Corinthians 5:6-8

“Then I saw a Lamb, looking as if it had been slain, standing at the center of the throne, encircled by the four living creatures and the elders. The Lamb had seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven spirits of God sent out into all the earth.” Revelation 5:5-7

“By faith he kept the Passover and the application of blood, so that the destroyer of the firstborn would not touch the firstborn of Israel.” Hebrews 11:27-29

They were to apply the blood of the animal on their door post. The presence of that blood indicated obedience and alliance to the God of Israel. The ‘death and slaying angel’ would have to passover those houses with the blood on it. Like wise the ones bearing the blood of the Lamb of Glory by faith have escaped judgement!

The animals you choose ….. you may take them from the sheep or the goats. Take care of them until the fourteenth day of the month, when all the members of the community of Israel must slaughter them at twilight. “Then they are to take some of the blood and put it on the sides and tops of the door frames of the houses where they eat the lambs.” Exodus 12:5-7

“On that same night I will pass through Egypt and strike down every firstborn of both people and animals, and I will bring judgment on all the gods of Egypt. I am the LORD. The blood will be a sign for you on the houses where you are, and when I see the blood, I will pass over you. No destructive plague will touch you when I strike Egypt.” Exodus 12:12-13

“So Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many; and he will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him.” Hebrews 9:27-28
“Otherwise Christ would have had to suffer many times since the creation of the world. But he has appeared once for all at the culmination of the ages to do away with sin by the sacrifice of himself.” Hebrews 9:25-27

“He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world.” 1 John 2:1-3

“For by one sacrifice he has made perfect forever those who are being made holy.” Hebrews 10:13-15

“But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin.” 1 John 1:6-8

“This is how you are to eat it: with your cloak tucked into your belt, your sandals on your feet and your staff in your hand. Eat it in haste; it is the LORD’s Passover.” Exodus 12:10-12

“Then tell them, ‘It is the Passover sacrifice to the LORD, who passed over the houses of the Israelites in Egypt and spared our homes when he struck down the Egyptians.’” Then the people bowed down and worshiped.” Exodus 12:26-28

Jesus said to them, “Very truly I tell you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you.” John 6:52-54

“And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth. To him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood,” Revelation 1:4-6

“He replied, “Go into the city to a certain man and tell him, ‘The Teacher says: My appointed time is near. I am going to celebrate the Passover with my disciples at your house.’” Matthew 26:17-19

“And he said to them, “I have eagerly desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer.” Luke 22:14-16

“Get rid of the old yeast, so that you may be a new unleavened batch—as you really are. For Christ, our Passover lamb, has been sacrificed.” 1 Corinthians 5:6-8
“Unlike the other high priests, he does not need to offer sacrifices day after day, first for his own sins, and then for the sins of the people. He sacrificed for their sins once for all when he offered himself.” Hebrews 7:26-28
The Resulting Victory was:
“The Israelites set out from Rameses on the fifteenth day of the first month, the day after the Passover. They marched out defiantly in full view of all the Egyptians,” Numbers 33:2-4

“Brought you up out of Egypt and redeemed you from the land of slavery. I sent Moses to lead you, also Aaron and Miriam.” Micah 6:3-5

“Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us, for it is written: “Cursed is everyone who is hung on a pole.” Galatians 3:12-14
“And they sang a new song before the throne and before the four living creatures and the elders. No one could learn the song except the 144,000 who had been redeemed from the earth.” Revelation 14:2-4

The Carpenter, The Cross and The Christ (An Easter Story)

Posted on

“Near the cross of Jesus stood his mother, his mother’s sister, Mary the wife of Clopas, and Mary Magdalene.” John 19:24-26

Mary (the mother of Jesus) looked on in unspeakable anguish as she felt the unseen tissues of her soul tear into a thousand pieces. Was that her baby boy hanging helplessly as his skin peeled off and hung precariously at His extremes. Girded only in loose loins, a Man of men hung half-naked as humanity glared on in terror, at one of the most torturous event the world would ever know… She was nauseous and giddy, had cried so much tears, there was nothing else left. The sobs that had raked her weary frame earlier had subsided into head throbbing flashes of grief. A numbness set over her suddenly as she began to fall…

Mary awoke with a touch of panic, as her eyes flashed around. Her Son needed water. She had heard His cry even in her subconscious. If only she had carried a pail up that hill. She had to get to Him, ease the pain and tend to His deep wounds. What was a mother to do, as she watched her very heart being wrenched out of her frail chest. She must go to Him at once, yes the prophecy had said He was God come in flesh but right before her eyes was a severely wounded, forsaken and suffering human. “And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death— even death on a cross! Philippians 2:7-9

Mary saw how he watched her, He was always so concerned. Not the kind of concern that had worry etched on your brows, but the kind that begged to release one from cares and bear the burden instead. It was as if His eyes were saying; ” cast it upon me…”. But how could she? He was her Son and she was supposed to wipe away His tears and shoulder His sorrows, wasn’t she? Not really, especially not when your Son was God in flesh.““He himself bore our sins” in his body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; “by his wounds you have been healed.” 1 Peter 2:23-25

“Isn’t this the carpenter? Isn’t this Mary’s son and the brother of James, Joseph, Judas and Simon? Aren’t his sisters here with us?” And they took offense at him.” Mark 6:2-4 Jesus finished the chair and placed it right behind Mary His mother to test the comfort and fit. He had drawn the plan and constructed the wood in such a way that she could take a nap in it when confronted by the scorching Nazarene sun. He and His father Joseph often did a lot work with wood as carpenter. Jesus was very skilled with his hands, as his father Joseph and every other person observed.

Little wonder those skillful, deft and wood carving hands; would touch blinded eyes and make them see. “He performs wonders that cannot be fathomed, miracles that cannot be counted.” Job 9:9-11 The hands that lifted the lame for their first step and wrote cautiously on the sand for the religious hypocrite. Those skillful hands that spoke volumes would reach out and raise the dead as it pointed to the torment in a demoniac. The hands that would cast out devils and then later break bread in communion. The hands that were finally nailed high to the cross, as Jesus looked at us in our sin and said “… Father forgive them, for they know not what they do.” “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:7-9

“And in Christ you have been brought to fullness. He is the head over every power and authority.” Colossians 2:9-11

Thank God that because His Son (the Carpenter) went to the Cross, we can have a relationship with the living Christ. Amen!
